Also known as His immutability, God’s unchangeable nature means He is always the same. As He Himself declares, “For I the Lord do not change” (Malachi 3:6). He never changes, and nothing and no one can cause Him to change. How reassuring this is! Especially in a world full of constant change, God’s sameness brings stability and peace to all who trust in Him.

Our triune God does not change. In our heavenly Father, there is “no variation or shadow due to change” (James 1:17), and “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

God’s wisdom does not change. His power is never diminished. He will never become more holy, for He is perfectly holy. He will never become less just, less good, or less true — for He is these things in perfection. And so, when the future feels uncertain, we take comfort in this truth: the Lord will be the same tomorrow as He is today. His character remains constant. His promises are sure. His grace is sufficient.

Perhaps most precious is this: God’s love for His children does not change. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases” (Lamentations 3:22). Even when trials come, even when we walk through painful seasons, His affection for us remains constant. We are secure in His love, even as we pray for Him to move in our circumstances.

And while He remains unchanging, He is at work transforming us. “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself…” (2 Corinthians 5:17–18).

This past month, we have witnessed many such works of transformation and reconciliation. Praise be to our faithful and unchanging God!

May Updates:

This month, the Lord opened many doors for gospel ministry. We are thankful for each opportunity He provided to share His love for sinners and the message of reconciliation through Christ.

We were blessed to have a team from Shepherd’s House Bible Church visit us at the beginning of the month. Together, we conducted two major events: a Vacation Bible School (VBS) in Rakiraki and a Youth Camp at the Gospel Retreat Centre. These took place during Fiji’s three-week school holiday period, during which we are holding a total of three camps.

At our VBS in Rakiraki, we expected around 60 children to attend each day. But on the first day alone, 97 children came! By the second and third days, the numbers had grown to over 160 children daily. We praise God for this overwhelming response and the opportunity to share the gospel with so many young hearts.

Next was the Youth Camp, where over 160 young people gathered for a four-day retreat. Thanks to the faithful prayers of our supporters and the generosity of the Shepherd’s House team, every camper was able to attend, be fed, and stay at no cost. This is exactly why the Gospel Retreat Centre exists — to serve as a place where Christ can be proclaimed freely and effectively. God honoured His Word: four young people turned and submitted to the Lord Jesus as their Saviour and King. Many more seeds were planted and watered, and we entrust their growth to the Lord.

We also enjoyed a special fellowship night with the local VBS and Youth Camp team and our guests from Shepherd’s House. The team gifted our Bible College students with beautifully handmade Bible covers, created by a couple from their church. We were deeply moved by this act of love and generosity.

Baptisms at Ba Bible Church

We also rejoice to share that 10 people have recently come to know the Lord and were added to the church. They were baptised on the 27th of April at Ba Bible Church by John Ravind and Anand Singh. These new believers were joyfully received into the visible church. We give all praise to God for His marvellous work, knowing that “unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.” He alone draws, saves, and sustains His people.

Campus and Facility Updates

We are grateful to report progress on two key facility projects:

  • Kindergarten Renovation (Phase One): This month, roofing replacements, fascia, guttering, and downpipes were completed. Our maintenance lead Vishwa Muniappa, Dr. Poasi Nui, students, and Paul Nair worked hard to ensure a safe and dry space for the children. We thank the Lord for His provision, and all of you who have prayed and sacrificially given. Several critical repairs remain, but we are deeply grateful for how far the Lord has brought us.

  • Vocational School Kitchen Renovation (Phase One): Vice Principal Dr. Poasi Nui and our students have been laying blockwork for the new kitchen. We praise God for providing resources to begin this important project. May it serve His purposes and bring Him glory, as AIVT continues to train young people in both skills and the knowledge of Christ.

We are currently praying for the full provision of $25,000 USD to complete the essential repairs for both sites. A portion has already been provided—thank you to all who have been instruments of God’s kindness. Would you please join us in prayer for the remaining needs?

Student Progress and Outreach

Students at both the Bible College and AIVT have completed their final exams and assignments for Semester One. Please pray that their learning would not remain merely academic, but take root in their hearts — deepening their love for God, His people, and the lost.

This month also included a ministry trip to Vanuatu, where Anand and Kumar served with Samaritan’s Purse through Operation Christmas Child, and Nathan Adams taught a one-week 4/5 hour per day module on Introduction to Christian Doctrine at our School of Evangelism - we had eleven students part of this class. What we often hear from our students is "we have never heard these truths, we don't get taught rigously, we only hear stories." We thank the Lord for fruitful ministry and safe travels.

Children’s Camp Praise Report

We held our Children’s Camp at the end of the month, where 14 children professed faith in Christ and committed to follow Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Please continue to pray for these young ones. The Lord alone knows the heart, but we rejoice in the profession of their faith and ask that He would establish them firmly in His grace.

Upcoming Suva Pastors Conference

Please pray for the upcoming Suva Pastors Conference, which has faced many challenges over the past two years—We have faced significant challenges, especially in securing a suitable venue and navigating the inflated costs of hosting a conference of this scale. This year, we are expecting between 100 to 150 pastors and Christian workers to attend. We are trusting the Lord to provide all that is needed. Please make this a matter of prayer, as we are freshly reminded of the urgent need to make biblical truth known throughout our nation and across the South Pacific. In addition to pastors and workers from across Fiji, we are also expecting international guests to join us for this important time of equipping and encouragement. This year, we are thankful to have Dr. Keith Stevenson, Rodney Chand, and Ben Dykman join us as guest speakers. Please pray for a blessed time of learning, fellowship, and encouragement for the many church leaders who will attend. That the truth of the gospel would be taught and a renewed commitment to proclaiming Christ and Him crucified.

Prayer Points

  • Please continue to pray for Premend, Ashwin and their children. Premend continues to recover and has his doctors appointment soon.

  • Pray for strength and grace as we continue through a season of transition as our home has suffered irreparable damage.

  • Pray for ongoing termite treatment across ministry sites—for effective work and long-term preservation.

  • Pray for wisdom as we engage with the Higher Education Commission and future campus development plans.

  • Pray for the Lord to provide the $20,000 USD needed monthly to sustain key ministry work, including:

    • Fiji Bible College

    • Christian Helps

    • AFC(SP) Vocational School

    • The Gospel Retreat Centre

    • The AFC(SP) Kindergarten

    • The School of Evangelism

We continue to look to the Lord for our needs. He has graciously provided for us year after year, and we are reminded each month that our hope and help are found in Him alone. We humbly ask you to join us in prayer — that God would supply what is needed to equip students, serve the poor, and proclaim Christ throughout the South Pacific until He comes.

God bless you all,

Narayan, Savita and the AFC(SP) family.
