Dear Friends,
David in Psalm 13 writes:
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and carry sorrow in my heart all day long?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.
David feels like he is at the end of himself. He has no strength left. He cannot see a way forward. It seems like God has forgotten him.
But this is not just David’s story. Every one of God’s children experiences moments like this in their walk with Him—times of darkness, sadness, and confusion.
Yet notice where this psalm leads: David doesn’t stay in despair. He fights to remember the truth about God. He starts in deep sorrow but ends with joy. He begins, in a sense, in what feels like death but moves toward life. He starts in the darkness of Good Friday but ends in the light of resurrection.
Why? Because David knows he can trust in God’s “unfailing love” (v. 5)—God’s unbreakable promise to save His people. His total commitment to see it through, to love them to the end. Despite how often we fail Him and the reality that not one second of our lives ever loves Him with the intensity that our hearts, minds, souls, and strength should - He continues to love to the end - despite the countless reasons we give Him to abandon, His covenantal promise is that He will never leave nor forsake. He that began that good work will carry it on to completion to the day of Christ Jesus. What should this do to our hearts? It should lead our hearts to greater love. This is the Spirit’s work— to give us a bigger picture of who God in Christ is— and to cause us to grow ever deeper in love for Him who loved us first.
And if David could trust God then, how much more can we trust Him now? David knew God’s love mainly through stories of rescue in the past, like the exodus. But we see God’s love fully and clearly in Jesus Christ—God’s ultimate act of rescue. Jesus is God’s unfailing love, not just shown in an event, but in a person who came to save us through His life, death, resurrection, ascension where He intercedes and advocates for us.
New Church Plant in Nadi
We praise God for a new church plant. On the first Sunday of July, we held the first service of the Nadi Bible Church near the international airport. We rejoice in the Lord’s continued work in growing His church.
Please pray for elders John Ravind and John Dewan as they shepherd the flock. Pray that this local church would continue to be rooted in truth and shine brightly in the Nadi region. May they be faithful in proclaiming Christ to the local community and remain passionate about evangelism.
School of Evangelism & PIEMN Conference – Vanuatu
We express our gratitude to God for the PIEMN Conference, where students from our School of Evangelism across the Pacific—Solomon Islands, PNG, New Zealand, and Vanuatu—gathered for a week-long event. Nathan Adams delivered four sessions over the week, followed by additional teachings from Faga Foarete. This month’s lectures centred around Biblical Exposition, with a study of the Epistle to the Ephesians. They were also joined by JD Summers (Pastor at Redemption Hill Church) and Dan Rudman (AFCI.US National Director),
It was truly a blessing to witness approximately 80 individuals attending the conference and actively participating in the School of Evangelism. Many participants shared their appreciation for the rare opportunity to receive such teaching in their local churches and expressed their deep desire to further study the Word of God. They yearned to not only gain personal knowledge of the truth but also to share it with their communities.
We are deeply grateful to Selu for her tireless efforts in coordinating the program. Our sincere hope and prayer are that those who completed the Certificate in Evangelism will pursue further theological education, enabling them to deepen their understanding of God and continue faithfully sharing His Word with others.
Children’s Camp Follow-Up
We recently held an overnight camp for children who trusted Christ during the children’s camp. While many are being discipled through local fellowships, some—especially those from Hindu homes—face restrictions and are not permitted to attend church.
Please pray for these young believers, that God would protect and grow them despite the challenges, and that their families would one day come to know Christ as well.
Optical Team from Australia
Thank you for praying for the Australian optical team, who partnered with Christian Helps. They provided essential eye care. Despite significant customs delays, —even after securing VET and duty-free clearance— medical and educational permit delays God made a way for the week-long clinic to go ahead.
More than 1,100 people received care and over 150 Gospels were distributed. Many individuals had in-depth conversations with us about the gospel presentation and many called out to God for mercy, and over 25 made professions of faith.
We praise God for this opportunity to share the good news in word and deed. His Word never returns void. Please continue praying for lasting fruit from this outreach.
Samisone and Koroi
We would like to introduce Samisone. He has been serving with us at the Vocational school where he overseas the vocational students. Samisone graduated from the Fiji Bible College (CTEF) in 2024 and has since joined the staff at the Ambassadors Institute of Vocational Training (AIVT), a ministry under Ambassadors for Christ (South Pacific). He plays a key role in supporting students enrolled in the Diploma and Certificate programs in Agriculture, assisting them with the practical components of their training, including hands-on farming, animal care, and land cultivation.
However, Samisone’s primary role is that of chaplain. With a heart for the gospel and a deep love for the students, he walks alongside them to introduce them to the good news of Jesus Christ—His love for sinners and His power to save. Through daily life, pastoral care, and discipleship, Samisone seeks to bring these young men into the family of God, nurturing not only their skills for the land but their souls for eternity.
One of the exciting new developments in our training programs is the Lay Preachers Program, which is designed to equip local church leaders with sound biblical teaching in their heart language.
Koroi, a recent fourth-year graduate, continues teaching in remote areas of Kadavu and Viti Levu. Using recently translated iTaukei training materials, for our Lay Preachers Program. He’s equipping lay preachers who would otherwise have no hermeneutical and expositiory training to learn how to craft and teach in an expositional manner. Though he’s met resistance at times, many are eager to grow.
Please pray for both men—that God would protect, guide, and provide for them as they labour to make Christ known.
Upcoming Events & Prayer Points
Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies – August Intensives
Would you please pray for the AFC(SP) team as we have our Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies beginning in the first two weeks of August, this free Masters program is for those who have a done previous biblical studies courses or for those who have done a undergraduate in a field outside of theology. It is primarily focused on those who are already in christian ministry who are looking to further their understanding of the Bible. It is a two week modular program with 40 hours of lectures over the course of the two weeks.
This year, we have Dr. Todd Stanton from St. John’s Park Baptist Church, who will be teaching Hermeneutics. Dr. Stanton visited us in April with a small team (Vinny, Gen, and Becky), and we eagerly anticipate his return to minister the word of God. Additionally, we have Dr. Arthur Adams, the Dean of the Master’s Program, who will be teaching Expository Homiletics. Dr. Adams served as the College Academic Dean from 1991 to 2004 and as the thesis assessor from 1995 to 2022. Since 2022, he has been lecturing full-time via Zoom for our resident program, teaching a total of eight subjects.
Please pray for the lecturers and students who will be joining us that the Lord would prepare them and minster to them through the truth of His Word. Please also pray for all the logistics and that the Lord would provide our needs to run the program and provide meals, and housing for students who have flown in from overseas. At this time it appears that we will gave well over 20 students for the program - We praise God for each of these students.
Fourth-Year Students – Final Stretch
Please uphold our fourth-year students as they approach the last semester and work on their theses. May they grow in their conviction of the gospel, the authority of God’s Word, and dependence on the grace of God and the enabling of the Spirit in all areas of their life and ministry.
Prayer for Dr. Poasi Nui’s Daughter – Helen
Dr. Poasi Nui, acting principal of Fiji Bible College, and his wife Mere continue to care for their daughter Helen, who was left severely disabled following a traumatic medical incident in 2014.
Diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy, Helen now lives in a vegetative state, suffering from seizures and eye-blinking spells. Medical options in Fiji are limited, and the strain on the family is great.
Please pray for wisdom, encouragement, and God’s provision—including medical equipment and practical support to help Helen as she grows.
Prayer for Ongoing Support
Please pray that the Lord might bring people who have a burden for missions to partner with us. Last month we were informed from our fellowship partners at AFC.USI that there were no funds in our account to support last month’s operational needs. Only by the kindness of God were we able to continue the work placed before us. If you could please pray with us and for us. If the Lord wills that we continue that the Lord would place it upon people's hearts that they might partner with us in varying ways so that we can continue the work entrusted to us.
We thank God for every person who upholds this ministry through prayer and sacrificial giving. We trust Him for the provision to continue serving through:
• Evangelism & Church Planting
• Fiji Bible College
• Christian Helps
• The School of Evangelism (now in 4 nations)
• AFC(SP) Vocational School
• The Gospel Retreat Centre
• AFC(SP) Kindergarten
• Ambassadors Christian Bookshop
At present, we have had to put all the renovation projects on halt, please continue to pray for the Lord’s provision to continue the building and renovation work. If you are able and If you feel led, we would be deeply grateful if you could encourage others to pray for the work of Ambassadors for Christ (South Pacific).
We’ve also attached an overview booklet (below) that helps explain the broader scope of this ministry.
In Christ's Love,
Narayan, Savita and the AFC(SP) Ministry Team
